After all, one essential element that makes our buildings work (i.e. habitable) is our effectiveness in responding to the human factor, hence needs. We, therefore, ought to equally acknowledge the significance of this principle to the daily practice, conduct and execution of our profession.
As SAIAT, we have taken deliberate steps to address the aforementioned as part of our commitment to the transformation response. In addition to the various programmes, initiatives and interventions we have outlined below - this year we introduced a dedicated Initiatives Portfolio to our National Committee, whose function includes a component on meaningful engagement, representation and involvement of various demographics in our membership.
SAIAT is committed to providing fair and equal access of all its programmes and benefits to all members - regardless of gender or race. We continue to make conscious effort to stay aware of the racial representation in our membership and event/activity attendance as a means to identify underrepresented groups and help us plan targeted and more inclusive initiatives.
